Today, let’s explore one final way.
Have you ever said to yourself “I’ll be happy when…” or “I’ll be peaceful when….”? Rest assured you are not the only one who allows their circumstances to dictate the joy and peace they experience in life. But Scripture challenges us to something else entirely.
John 14:27
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
This verse asserts that peace is available right now through Christ, as he was talking about the Holy Spirit, which ultimately was given to believers after Jesus’ resurrection. We don’t have to wait until some time in the future. The Holy Spirit is available to us when we put our faith in Christ. Thus, God’s provision of peace is available to us in the moment, if we will only open the gift he offers us. A gift we do not deserve, but that he so willingly gave out of love for us.
Today, take time to think of ways that God has blessed you. How have your needs been met? How does this reassure you that your needs will be met in the future?
Today, trust in God, step into the journey with him, and travel at the pace of peace knowing that he will be with you always, even to the end of age (Matthew 28:20).
