Toledo Correctional Institution (ToCI) was opened in 2000 - today, it is a maximum security prison housing approximately 750 inmates. At face value, it is a disheartening place to visit, let alone live. But God's power often shines most brightly in dark places, and ToCI is no exception!

CedarCreek streams weekend services to ToCI, introducing inmates to Jesus and the life-changing adventure with him. Yet some of the most profound gospel work is happening through Celebrate Recovery Inside, a Christ-centered recovery program to help them overcome issues that resulted in their incarceration.

Harley, a retired ToCI staff member, leads volunteers from CedarCreek as they spend time weekly with groups of inmates walking through a multi-month step study experience, and the impact is apparent! Men are building trust with one another, sharing about their hurts, habits, and hangups, and finding freedom alongside others who have similar experiences. Group members are being trained to lead future groups, and participants are taking steps on the spiritual journey, including baptism!

The hope of Jesus is being shared and received by inmates at ToCI. They are truly a part of our CedarCreek family, on the spiritual journey with us!
