During this past week, we’ve learned how we can be prone to trying to do life on our own, like Saul did, and that these choices can have consequences. It can be scary to think about, but we also have a tremendous opportunity for peace when we put our faith in Christ. A fear-filled life leads to chaos. A life of faith leads to purpose and peace.
Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may include Colossians 1:11-14 and Colossians 1:21-22. Then look back on the notes you captured from last Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week.
You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:
How would you describe your relationship with God right now? Are you close or distant?
What is one thing you can do this week to deepen your relationship with God?
Take time to reflect on the following verse:
James 4:8
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
What does it mean to you and how does it encourage you? How can you live it out this week?
Prayer:
Jesus, I praise you! You love me so much that you gave your life on the cross so I could live eternally with you. Forgive me for all the ways I dishonor you. I want to draw closer to you, Lord, to know you better and bring glory to your holy name. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
