Title: The End of Our Life
Memory Verse: Hebrews 3:14 (NLT) For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
Bottom Line: Your life TODAY will determine your ETERNITY.
Key Text: John 5:25-29 (NLT) "And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice - the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son. And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man. Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment."
Jesus teaches us there are two outcomes at the end of our life:
Eternal Life OR Condemnation
John 3:16-18 (NLT) "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son."
Saying or believing that "God sends people to hell" is a bit misleading. God sent his Son to rescue humanity through him.
John 11:25-26 (NLT) Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?"
Jesus' promise of our future with him gives us hope to face today.
