Monday, December 4, 2023

This past weekend we began our new series, Avoiding Grinchmas, to help you experience the joy that’s possible through God during the Christmas season, and share and invite others to experience it too.

Carve out some time today, to further explore some of the key points of the message using the discussion questions below. Discuss with a friend or your group, or simply take some personal time to journal your answers and consider what God is trying to teach you this week.

Discussion Questions:

Icebreaker: What was your favorite childhood Christmas TV special?

What can happen when people focus more on pursuing happiness than pursuing God?

Read Psalm 37:4 and Psalm 16:11. What do you learn about God in these verses?

In which of the following areas do you tend to pursue happiness instead of God: relationships, achievement, feeling good, getting noticed, or stuff? Why might this be?

What is one way you can connect with God this week?

Series Theme Verse:

Psalm 16:11 (ESV)
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
