“Conversation in a Hostile Environment” focuses on conversational skills training for situations where there is disagreement.

It is a part of a wider series of videos, created to help Christian believers engage those around them in everyday spiritual conversations and witness.

‘Western’ culture is changing – and Christian witness is becoming more difficult as a result. The gap between the thinking of the Christian and the non-Christian is getting wider in relation to a number of topics. Public media and sentiment carry an increasing bias also. This series suggests the way forward is to look afresh at the example of Jesus who engaged all manner of difficult conversations with wisdom and grace. He modelled a balance of love, courage and skill in each of these situations – and related to each person as an individual. Let’s imitate him!

This series covers these five topics:

     · How to be effective in a hostile environment

     · Answering questions with questions

     · Avoiding the quotable quote

     · When it’s right to confuse people

     · How to say nothing (unless you really say something)
