Focus:
For Our Neighbors

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise you for the gift of community and the joy of neighbors. We ask for your peace and protection over our neighborhood and every home in it. Even though our neighbors aren’t always easy to love, we ask for patience toward them anyway. We pray you would fill our streets with grace and mercy, and that you would teach us to love one another as you have loved us. We lift to you those who are sick, hurting, or lonely, and we ask for your healing and comfort in their lives. Lord, may our neighborhood be a place where your presence is known and your name is glorified. Help us be good neighbors who shine your love and light. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Scripture:
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”  - Mark 12:29-31

Today’s Next Step:
Take a walk through your neighborhood and pray for each home as you go by. Pray for peace in every home, for each neighbor to know God, and for healing of minds, bodies, and relationships.
