New Testament Reading Plan: Romans 4
This week, we have learned that pre-deciding helps pave the way to our preferred future. Each day we have a choice. We can follow God’s call on our life or something else.
But even with our best intentions in place, we may fall short or things won’t always go according to plan. It's easy to get discouraged and wonder if God is upset or if we should even bother. But be encouraged!
Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Indeed, you will fall short and so will I, but God in his mercy, gives us grace upon grace. He loves you and I in spite of our sin and imperfection and desires us to begin anew each day forging a relationship with him.
What do you need to pre-decide today?
When__________________, I will ______________________.
Prayer:
Lord, I confess I have good intentions, but I fall short. I don’t do what I should, and I do what I shouldn’t. Today, I come before your throne of grace, confident you will show me mercy and grace during this time of need. Because of your Son’s sacrifice you hear my prayer. Help me pre-decide to live my life for your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Romans 12:2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
