Where were you when Jesus became more than a name for you?
Maybe it was at a campfire.
Maybe it was during a worship song that hit differently.
Maybe it was when faith stopped being something you knew about… and started being something you felt deeply and personally.
For me, that moment happened at Happy Hills Christian Camp. I started going in 1st or 2nd grade, but it wasn’t until middle school when something unlocked for me. Worship took place in an old barn chapel with wood siding and open beams — and at night you could look up and see the stars through parts of the roof. I had always believed in Jesus. I was comfortable knowing about Him. But during one of those worship nights, something broke through in me. Jesus met me in that moment. I felt conviction in a way I never had before.

When I came home, my parents noticed the difference. My friends noticed it too. My faith was no longer just something I carried because I grew up around it — it was something I owned. That moment didn’t just change a week of my life. It shaped the direction of it. In many ways, it’s part of why I help lead students today.
That’s what Jesus can do at camps.
That moment didn’t happen for me in my normal routine. It didn’t happen between homework and sports practices. It didn’t happen while juggling distractions. I needed space. I needed to step out of my everyday environment so God could get my full attention.
Today, our students head to Camp Michindoh. It’s not a barn chapel in Kentucky — but the purpose is the same. For four days, your student steps away from video games, social pressure, packed schedules, and constant notifications. They unplug from comparison and expectation. And in that space, something powerful happens.
At Michindoh, they get to worship together in sessions that consistently become turning points. They process truth in small groups. They laugh during activities. They build friendships in cabins. They have late-night conversations that go deeper than they expected. By Day 1, many students arrive guarded, distracted, or unsure. By Day 4, we often see a complete 180 — students getting introduced to Jesus and the life-changing adventure with Him.
You’d be surprised what 4 days can do for your student. But when they are removed from distraction, something shifts. We see them come home different — more confident in who they are, more consistent in their faith, more open in conversation, more willing to take ownership spiritually.
Before camp, Skylar believed in God but didn’t feel close to Him. She was carrying questions and struggles quietly and felt like she was just going through the motions. In May 2023, a last-minute opening allowed her to attend Fusion Camp, and even though she didn’t know anyone going in, she found herself surrounded by students hungry for Jesus. Each summer deepened her faith — especially when a simple truth stuck: “Honesty with Jesus is where real faith begins.” That spark turned into consistency, growth, and eventually baptism in December 2024. What started with one open spot became the turning point of her faith journey.

Camp creates moments where Jesus becomes more than a name.
We are already 50% full for Student Camps this summer. And every year, we hear from families who wish they hadn’t waited. If camp is even a possibility for your student, now is the time to secure their spot. We never want cost to be a barrier — scholarships are available — but spots are limited and will continue to fill.
Four days can shape a lifetime.
Don’t wait to see if space is still available later. Take the step now and register your student below.
