New Testament Reading Plan: Hebrews 10
Joshua 1:8
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
In a world full of noise, questions, and constant distractions, hearing from God can feel complicated. But it doesn't have to be.
God speaks clearly and consistently through the Bible. That's why he called Joshua not only to read his Word but also to meditate on it day and night. God was giving Joshua more than commands; he was giving him a compass for life.
Memorizing scripture plants God's truth in our hearts, where it can guide, remind, and shape our thoughts and responses. It moves truth from the page into the places we need it most. When our thoughts, words, and decisions are rooted in his Word, our lives will prosper.
The more we engage with the Bible, the more familiar God's voice becomes. When we read and remember his Word, we start to recognize his leading, even in the ordinary moments.
Questions:
What verse can you carry with you today?
Next Steps:
Using the verse you selected, write it down and take steps to memorize it. There are many ways, as well as apps, available to help with this. If you need a guide, try one of these:
Break it down into smaller segments – memorizing them one segment at a time.
- Use memory techniques like flashcards, singing it, or reciting it aloud.
- Review it regularly, incorporate it into prayer, or share it with a friend.
- Most importantly, be patient! Watch as the Holy Spirit pulls your verse to mind exactly when you need it!
Prayer:
God, help me love your Word. Give me a hunger to read it, remember it, and live it. Remind me that when I listen to you through Scripture, I will never walk alone. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Psalm 85:8
I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.
