Bottom Line
Love One Another
Scripture
Read John 13:1-17
Devotion
Parents are sacrificial love experts. It’s what you do. From nighttime feedings, to toddler meltdowns, potty training patience and bedtime negotiations, your unwavering love for your child helps you stay the course.
And while you are loving well ... are you remembering that you are well loved?
In the final moments before Jesus’ arrest and death - “when Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father” (John 13:1) - he chose to love. Jesus knelt and served and washed his friends’ dirty feet.
“I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.” John 13:15
Tonight, your children will be hearing this story and encouraged to love one another by putting others first. Let's encourage our kids and celebrate those loving choices when we see them in action.
And on the days when parenthood leaves you tired and worn, remember Jesus’ sacrificial love is for you too.
Prayer
Dear God, we are excited and hopeful as children experience Kids Camp this week! We pray kids will have fun and learn about how much you love them. Tonight, may each child see your loving heart and want to follow your example by putting others first. We pray each child at camp will experience your love and get more and more excited to Live It Out! We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
