Joy isn't something we keep to ourselves - it's something we live out and share. Real joy begins when we rest in the truth of God's love for us, and it grows stronger when we extend that same love to others.
Mark 12:29-31
Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this: 'Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.' The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these."
This week, look for opportunities to let God's love overflow through your words, actions, and presence. When you encourage someone, serve with kindness, or show up with compassion, you become a living picture of the joy you've received.
Joy shared is joy multiplied. As you move forward, ask God to help you live from his love, so that the people around you can experience it, too.
Discussion Questions:
Ice Breaker: What's one simple act of kindness you've received that unexpectedly brought you joy?
Imagine if our church was known most for how boldly and selflessly we loved people. What difference would that make for those who don't know Jesus?
Read 1 John 4:7–12: What stands out to you in this passage about the source of love and how, when we accept Jesus, we can allow it to flow through us?
When you think about your family, work, and friendships in your daily life, where do you find it easiest to show God's love? Where is it hardest?
Reflect and Respond: What's one intentional step you can take this week to share God's love in a way that might bring absolute joy to someone else?
Prayer: 21 Days of Prayer - Day 21
God, we praise you for the things you have done to show us your love and we worship you for who you are. May there be a moment each day where we’re given the opportunity to show the world how thankful we are for your love and grace. Thank you, God, for stirring up our passion for you each day. May our lives reflect your glory and the transforming power of your love.
