Today, I encourage you to pause and consider the idea that we can make a difference by sharing the joy we have in Christ with others.
Begin by taking a few moments to sit quietly. Set aside all distractions, close your eyes, and take a few slow, deep breaths. With each exhalation, give God your worries and concerns and allow his peace wash over you.
Next, take some time to slowly read through Proverbs 15:4 and Matthew 20:28. What do you learn about bringing joy to others from these verses? How might you live this out?
Finally, consider recording your responses in a journal, whether digital or hardcopy. It's a great way to be able to look back on the adventure God has you on.
Prayer:
Lord, as we approach the celebration of your Son’s birth, open our eyes to ways that we can spread joy to others. For so many, this season is challenging and exhausting. Help us be refreshed through you, so we can refresh others; give us life-giving words, and serve others in ways that bring them joy. Amen.
