Bottom Line: The method for God's message is the church.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)

Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NLT)

And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"

How to Deliver God's Message:

  • Serve
  • Invite
  • Share

How to Share Your Story:

  • Your life before Jesus
  • How you met Jesus
  • Your new life with Jesus

Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)

"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."

John 1:45-49 (NLT)

Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, "We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.""Nazareth!" exclaimed Nathanael. "Can anything good come from Nazareth?""Come and see for yourself," Philip replied. As they approached, Jesus said, "Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.""How do you know about me?" Nathanael asked.Jesus replied, "I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you."Then Nathanael exclaimed, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!"

1 Peter 3:15-16 (NLT)

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear.

Discussion Questions:

  • Icebreaker: What is something that scares you?
  • Why might people be hesitant to share their faith?
  • Read Matthew 28:18-20 and 2 Corinthians 5:20. What do you learn about your purpose in God’s Kingdom?
  • What is your faith story? Use the framework offered this weekend (life before Jesus, how you met Jesus, your new life with Jesus) to tell your story.
  • Who is your one? Which method (serve, invite, share) will you use to tell your "one" about the message of Christ? What will that look like?
