If you've been looking for a way to make a real difference in Toledo this weekend, we'd love for you to serve alongside us at CedarCreek. Whether you're brand new to volunteering or you've been doing it for years, we have organized, accessible opportunities that make it easy to show up and have an impact — no experience required.
CedarCreek's Weekend Volunteer Opportunities in Toledo
Serving others is at the core of who we are at CedarCreek. We believe faith isn't just something you practice on Sunday morning — it's something you live out in your neighborhood, and that means showing up for the people around you in practical, tangible ways.
Every campus hosts monthly experiences to serve nursing home residents, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk kids, and more. These aren't one-off events — they're consistent, organized opportunities built around making a sustained difference in the Toledo community. You can search our directory to find out which projects are coming up and sign up directly at cedarcreek.tv/serve.
Second Saturday Serve: Show Up Once, Come Back Every Month
Second Saturday Serves are one of our most accessible on-ramps to volunteering. Once a month, teams from every CedarCreek campus head out into Toledo and the surrounding communities for hands-on outreach — serving those experiencing homelessness, distributing food and clothing, and meeting people where they are with genuine care and no agenda.
It's low-pressure, well-organized, and a genuinely great way to connect with others who want to use their time for something meaningful. If you've been wanting to get involved but weren't sure where to start, a Second Saturday is the perfect first step.
Serve Day: The Whole Church, One Day
Our whole church rallies together one Saturday in July to tackle projects in the community — from painting at a women's shelter to packing gifts for first responders. This year, Serve Day is July 25th. It's one of our favorite days of the year — the energy is unlike anything else, and the impact is real and visible. We'd love to have you there.
Outreach Groups: Ongoing, Relational Serving
If you're looking for something more than a one-time volunteer shift, our Outreach Groups are a great fit. Participating in an Outreach Group is a great way to combine your passion with service to the community. These smaller teams partner with local organizations on an ongoing basis — serving consistently, building real relationships, and making a sustained difference over time rather than just showing up once.
Year-Round Initiatives
Year round, we host a free medical clinic, provide automotive assistance to those in need, and team up with our partner schools to invest in the next generation. These programs run quietly and consistently, not because they make headlines, but because the people we serve need them week in and week out.
