Speaker:

Ben Snyder; Lead Pastor

Bottom Line:

It is blessed to rest.

Theme Verse:

Ecclesiastes 9:17 (NLT) Better to hear the quiet words of a wise person than the shouts of a foolish king.

Key Passages:

Genesis 2:1-3 (NLT) So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.

Mark 6:7-8 (NLT) And he called his twelve disciples together and began sending them out two by two, giving them authority to cast out evil spirits. He told them to take nothing for their journey except a walking stick — no food, no traveler’s bag, no money.

Mark 6:30-31 (NLT) The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

Pause the essential.

Subtract the unnecessary.

Add what is life giving.
