Statement of Faith: Why It Matters

At CedarCreek, we believe faith is more than just a set of beliefs—it’s a journey we take together. Like any family, a church needs a strong foundation that keeps us united and moving in the same direction. That’s why we have a Statement of Faith—so we can stay centered on what matters most.

Why Is a Statement of Faith Important?

Our Statement of Faith is more than words on a page. It’s a shared understanding of who Jesus is and what the Bible teaches about him. It helps us stay focused on our mission: introducing people to Jesus and the life-changing adventure with him.

People come to CedarCreek from all kinds of backgrounds, and sometimes, we all wrestle with big questions about faith. That’s okay! We believe it’s important to clearly express what we stand for—because Jesus is at the heart of everything we do.

This foundation isn’t just for our pastors or leaders—it’s for everyone who calls CedarCreek home. It helps us grow together, serve together, and encourage one another as we walk in faith.

How Do We Use the Statement of Faith?

Our Statement of Faith is available to everyone on our website and app. We want to be transparent about what we believe and make sure we’re all moving in the same direction as we lead and serve others. This isn’t about having all the answers, it’s so that we:

· Stay Rooted in Truth – We want to make sure everything we teach and share is grounded in God’s Word (Titus 2:1; 1 Timothy 4:6; 2 Timothy 4:1-5).

· Walk in Unity – As our leaders guide and support our church, having a shared foundation helps us work together with purpose and clarity.

What do I do with the Statement of Faith?

Engaging with the Statement of Faith can be an important part of your spiritual journey. You can just read through it, but it can be helpful to use it as a study. Here’s how:

1) Pray for God to help you gain deeper understanding of who he is and what’s most important to him.

2) Read through it once all the way through noting any questions you have.

3) Once you’ve read it all the way through, read each section and then go to the Scripture reference listed after each. Read the verses and then read the statement again. You could do this in a day or over a week. Meditate on it and what it means to you.

4) Capture questions you still have and continue to ask God for his wisdom and understanding, then schedule a time to meet with your campus pastor.

What If I Have Questions or Struggles with the Statement of Faith?

We get it—faith has personal aspects to it, and sometimes we wrestle with questions. That’s why we encourage you to reach out to your local campus pastor if you ever feel unsure or want to talk things through. We’d love to have a conversation, explore Scripture with you, and walk alongside you as you seek understanding.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to belong here. At CedarCreek, you are welcome just as you are. No matter where you are in your journey, we’re here to support, encourage, and walk with you every step of the way.
