 Do you shake your head and wonder out loud with your neighbors and friends - what in the world is going on? From anger and division in the culture wars to the corruption, deceit and crazy headlines, there’s no escaping it. And when you start to look for answers - in church, in politics, or online- the answer doesn’t seem to get any clearer. As Christians, the added layer is that it seems people use the Bible to defend all sorts of opposing positions. This isn’t new, but what do we do about it now? Each summer we like to take a more intentional look at a portion of the Bible, and this July we’ll be staying in a book called Titus. Titus was a first century church leader who experienced competing and conflicting cultural clashes, not all that different from what we experience today. So this July let’s see if the insights there can help us understand what it means to be raised up for the good of a nation.
