New Testament Reading Plan: Revelation 11

Acts 4:32-33
All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.

What if world-changing devotion was simply sharing what you already have?

The early church wasn't impressive because of its size, resources, or structure, but it was powerful because of its unity. The apostles were united in heart and mind, entirely devoted to Jesus and to one another. Their shared devotion created a ripple effect that changed lives, cities, and history itself.

This unity wasn't just about getting along; it was about living on mission together. The believers recognized that everything they had belonged to God. Their time, possessions, energy, and influence were all his to start and theirs to share. Their love for Jesus overflowed into radical generosity, compassion, and courage. The unity they had on mission together allowed the apostles to testify about Jesus boldly, and when they did this, "God's great blessing was upon them all."

That same Spirit is still available to us today. Jesus calls us not only to personal devotion but also to shared devotion and a united commitment to live out the gospel together. When we link arms as one body, using our different gifts and stories for a common purpose, the world gets a glimpse of God's Kingdom in action.

It's through our unity that the message of Jesus rings out most clearly to those who don't yet know him. When the church moves together - serving, giving, loving, and witnessing in one heart and mind - lives are saved and hope spreads.

Let's be those kinds of people: entirely devoted, Spirit-led, and united in purpose to point others to Jesus.

Questions:
When you hear the word "unity," what comes to mind?

How we can create unity within our own homes, the way we define our mission in Christ as a family, or how we establish traditions around service?

How can you invite God's Spirit to guide you in being bold, compassionate, and strategic in how you share Jesus with others?
