If you care about the next generation, there's a place for you at CedarCreek. Volunteering with our Kids Ministry or Student Ministry is one of the most meaningful ways to serve — not because it looks good on paper, but because the relationships you build with young people have a way of changing both of you.
No prior experience required. Just a genuine heart for kids and students and a willingness to show up.
Serving in CedarCreek Kids
Our Kids Ministry, CedarCreek Kids, serves children from newborns through 4th grade every weekend at all six of our Northwest Ohio campuses. Volunteers in this ministry serve as Small Group Leaders, classroom helpers, and event support — walking alongside kids in age-appropriate lessons, games, and small group conversations that help them learn about God and themselves.
Safety is a top priority in everything we do. Every volunteer goes through a thorough onboarding process that includes an interview, background check, and specific training before ever stepping into a room with kids. You'll know exactly what's expected, and you'll have the support of an experienced team around you every step of the way.
Serving in CedarCreek Students
Our Student Ministry reaches 5th through 12th graders through weekend services and Wednesday night Midweek gatherings. Volunteers serve as Small Group Leaders — trusted adults who show up consistently, facilitate real conversations, mentor students through everyday life, and create a space where young people genuinely feel like they belong.
This is the kind of role that matters beyond Sunday. Students remember the adults who showed up for them. Being a Small Group Leader at CedarCreek means being that person for a group of kids who really need it.
Middle School (5th–8th grade): Small groups meet every weekend during regular service times at every campus
High School (9th–12th grade): Midweek groups meet Wednesday nights from 7–8:30p at every campus, broken down by grade and gender
How to Get Started
The path to joining a serving team at CedarCreek runs through GrowthTrack — our free 4-week program that helps you discover your God-given gifts and purpose and connects you with the right role. It runs one week per month at every campus and takes about four weekends to complete. By the end, we'll help you find exactly where you fit.
Here's the simple path to serving:
Attend GrowthTrack — discover your personality, spiritual gifts, and purpose
Choose your area of service — Kids, Students, or one of over a hundred other DreamTeam roles
Complete onboarding — including your background check, interview, and role-specific training
Show up and make an impact

Why Volunteer at CedarCreek?
Serving in Kids or Student Ministry isn't just good for the young people you're serving — it's genuinely good for you too. Volunteers regularly tell us that their time on the team deepened their own faith, built some of their closest friendships, and gave them a sense of purpose they hadn't found anywhere else. When you use your gifts to invest in others, something shifts in you as well.
We have campuses in Perrysburg, Findlay, Oregon, South Toledo, West Toledo, and Whitehouse — so wherever you're located in Northwest Ohio, there's an opportunity close to home.
