Why We Need Each Other

Church Community: Ben Bockert

God never designed us to do life alone.

From the very first pages of Scripture, we see this truth clearly: "It is not good for the man to be alone" (Genesis 2:18). Here are three powerful reasons life is better when we do it with others.

1. We Grow Stronger

Community sharpens us. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." When we walk with others, we receive honest feedback, accountability, and encouragement that helps us become more like Jesus. Isolation makes it easy to drift. Friends who love us enough to speak truth help us grow.

2. We Carry Less

Life is hard—trials come to everyone. But burdens feel lighter when shared. The early church in Acts showed us what this looks like: they met daily, prayed together, and supported one another through everything. Having people who will listen, pray, and stand with you makes every season more bearable and every joy sweeter.

3. We Reflect God’s Heart

We were created in the image of a relational God who exists in perfect community as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we live connected to others, we display His love to the world. Our relationships become a powerful testimony of His goodness.

Life really is better together. Don’t try to do it alone.
