Flashback Friday! Thirty Years of Pointing People to Jesus!

Church Community: Lori Tuckerman

Friday, December 26, 2025

Special services like Christmas. New campuses across Northwest Ohio. Internships, mission trips, bold marketing, stage and video dramas, music and art that still gives us chills, and technology that grew from an AOL email address to a fully connected app experience.

All of it—every moment, every risk, every story—has always been about one thing: pointing people to a life-changing adventure with Jesus!

What began in 1995 in a hotel ballroom with a small group of people and a big vision has become a church serving thousands each week across physical campuses and online.

Along the way, CedarCreek has never been afraid to try something new—portable church in high schools, live-streamed services before they were common, the launch of an Internet Campus, and even baptizing hundreds of people in one unforgettable day at the Mother of All Baptisms (MOAB).

Creativity has always been a tool, not the goal. From dramas that made people laugh, think, and sometimes cry, to music that shaped entire seasons of worship, to marketing campaigns that sparked conversations in our communities—everything was designed to remove barriers and invite people to take a next step toward Jesus.

That same heart fueled mission trips that took CedarCreek beyond its walls—locally, nationally, and globally. From disaster response in Honduras after Hurricane Mitch to long-term partnerships that changed lives on both sides of the globe, outreach has always been about showing the love of Jesus in practical, compassionate ways.

And it didn’t stop on the weekends. Resources like the LivingItOut helped people “dig deeper,” taking what they heard on Sunday and living it out Monday through Friday. What started as a printed handout grew into a digital devotional, an email subscription, and is now part of The Daily—meeting people right where they are.

Through it all—new campuses, new technology, new methods—the mission never changed. Lives were changed. Families were restored. Faith was awakened. And thousands said “yes” to Jesus and went public with their faith through baptism.

As we come to a close on 2025 and the celebration of 30 years of CedarCreek, we pause to thank God for His faithfulness—and for the countless volunteers, staff members, leaders, and attendees who said yes to being part of the story. The past reminds us of where we’ve been. The present shows us what God is doing right now. And the future? We believe it’s full of even more hope, impact, and adventure.

We cannot wait to see what God has for us next.
