A Year of Yes | Say Yes to Finding Your Group!

Groups at CedarCreek are where life and faith come together. They're a place to belong, where you're accepted just as you are, and a place to connect with others who share your journey. Groups are more than just meetings. They're a place to find real connection and build meaningful relationships.

For Alexis, finding the right Group didn't happen right away.

She had been looking for a Group to join, but when one caught her attention, the timing just wasn't right. Between a full schedule and limited space in the Group, she wasn't able to sign up. What she didn't know was that God was still at work.

A year later, Alexis finally had the opportunity to join the Group, and it was even better than she expected.

"It gave me a safe place to ask questions, be myself, and grow alongside people who genuinely put God first," Alexis shares.

The Group was energetic, relatable, and full of fun. More than that, it became a true sisterhood. It didn't feel like a homework assignment or a program with a rigid timeline. It was simply a group of women showing up for one another, praying together, growing together, and creating space for people who often felt overlooked or out of place.

What Alexis experienced was exactly what Jes had hoped to create when she started the Group.

As Jes searched through the Groups Directory, she couldn't find a Group that felt like the right fit. She longed for a space grounded in shared beliefs, real conversation, and authentic belonging. She didn't want a place where people had to prepare, perform, or pretend. She wanted a place where women could show up exactly as they are and know they were seen and valued.

That vision shaped the Group she started. Jes dreamed of something small, intimate, and meaningful. She wanted a circle where every woman had a voice, where no one felt judged, and where people could do life together honestly.

When the Group first launched, it quickly filled. There was excitement, energy, and connection from the very beginning. Yet a year later, the Group became complete in a new way when Alexis joined and found exactly what she had been searching for.

Reflecting on her experience, Alexis says, "I experienced God through other people. I saw what it looked like to do life with believers who truly love and support one another, and it reminded me that we weren't meant to follow Jesus alone."

Stories like Alexis's remind Jes why Groups matter. They create a place for people to belong, to be met where they are, and to experience authentic community.

Today, both Jes and Alexis encourage others to take a step toward community, whether that's joining a Group or starting one of their own. As Jes says, there's always "someone looking for exactly what you want."

Saying yes to Group life led to something they never expected: "friendships they truly believe will last a lifetime."
