Welcome to Chosen and Loved online Bible Study. This semester we will spend the first 8 weeks studying Acts of the Apostles by Louie Giglio and the remaining 5 weeks studying Grace is Greater by Kyle Idleman. The Acts of the Apostles by Louie Giglio In a world that is unsure of where to find truth or purpose, the book of Acts stands apart. It reveals God's plan for global redemption, his purpose for our lives, and the power he has given us to accomplish his mission. Join pastor Louie Giglio in this eight-session series as he walks through the story of the early church. Acts may have been written two thousand years ago, but God is calling us to be a part of that story today. Grace is Greater by Kyle Idleman We've all experienced failures, bitterness, or setbacks. We carry unseen burdens that rob us of joy, keep us from praying, and even cause us to doubt God. Bestselling author and pastor, Kyle Idleman, and the award-winning media team at City on a Hill want to remind us that God's grace is greater. Even when it doesn't make sense. Even when it doesn't feel fair. God's grace covers everything we've done. And the best way (perhaps the only real way) to understand it, is to experience it. Grace is Greater will remind you that no sin is so great, no bitterness so deep that God's grace cannot transform your heart and rewrite your story.

When you consider the book of Revelation, are you immediately overwhelmed by mysterious symbolism and terrifying images? When you read about worldwide earthquakes and trumpeting angels, monstrous beasts, and miracle-working dragons, do you long for the comfort of the Psalms, simple stories of the Gospels, or practical instruction of the Epistles?   (4) You are not alone. For many readers, the primary purpose of Revelation is easily lost in trying to decipher prophecy and predict the future.  If you begin to feel lost in chapters about mysterious lampstands and sacred seals, remember what John tells us in chapter 1:  The primary purpose of Revelation is to reveal “the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.”   In short, Revelation reveals Jesus!  At the very time when so many are struggling, or when you yourself are suffering and in desperate need of real hope. At this very time—when our entire world seems to be teetering on the verge of war, when our streets are filled with anger and anarchy, when Christians around the globe are being persecuted in record-breaking numbers, when corruption and chaos have paralyzed political systems, when lies have been spun as truth, when spiritual darkness and oppressive deception blanket the nations, when wrong is judged to be right and right is judged to be wrong. Have you wondered, “Is there is real hope for the future of my children and my grandchildren?” The book of Revelation answers with a resounding YES!  Come and explore the book of Revelation and discover our real hope … Jesus!

There is so much nature in our Bible . We will be reading and discussing scripture. Luke 12:24-26 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

This group is about finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life. Resource used for class is available from Amazon. “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World” by Joanna Weaver is available in Hardcover, Paperback, Kindlex or Audible. A woman named Martha opened her home to Jesus and his disciples. Her sister Mary sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. Martha was distracted by all the preparations to be made. She went to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42

Bible journaling is a creative way to learn and grow in the scripture. In this group, we will be focusing on a type of journaling called Verse Mapping and then taking what we learn to create images for our bibles (images can be as simple as stickers or complicated works of art. The definition of verse mapping if you look it up sounds very complicated but simply it is getting real about studying the Bible. The process is taking our Verse and looking at 2-4 other translations picking out key phrases and words that stand out as the same or similar, looking up words and phrases to define them, researching the story of the verse, and then your outcome or take away from the verse. Together we will share what we each come to from the verse and our pictures if you want. I will show you how I do all of this and we can all learn and grow together in the word. Whether your brand new to bible journaling or have it enjoyed it for years this group is for you! Join us Saturdays at 11am at the Waterville Library!

We’ll be working through a series by Francis Chan that dives into John 13–17, a passage rich in promises, commands, and eternal truths. He’ll remind us we aren’t called to a part-time faith—we were made to know, walk with, and commune with God. We’ll eat together, and watch and discuss a short video from the series each week. The goal is to get to know God, ourselves, and each other more deeply throughout the semester. Kids are welcome and kid-friendly food will be provided as well. We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is, Where do we go from here? We will be going through the book of “Life’s Healing Choices “ and using the Beatitudes of Jesus as a foundation that will bring true happiness and life transformation. In addition to practical, encouraging biblical teaching, each chapter includes two real-life testimonies of men and women whose lives have been transformed by living out the eight choices in this book. Through making each of these choices, you too will find God’s pathway to wholeness, growth, spiritual maturity, happiness, and healing. You’ll find real answers, real hope, and a real future—one healing choice at a time.

Are you hurting? Maybe you have hang-up of some kind? Or possibly a habit? Are you thinking it might be time for a change, but just don't know where to start. Then this study is for YOU! If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, then this study will teach you God's promise of happiness? This promise of happiness is based on eight statements from the truest of all books—God’s Word—and from the most revered Teacher of all time—Jesus Christ. In Jesus’s well-known and beloved Beatitudes, Jesus shares eight statements that reveal God’s pathway to wholeness, growth, spiritual maturity, and happiness. This is a group for men and women, led by both Lynn and John Lehnert. We will meet Wednesday nights from 630-8pm. We hope you’ll join us.

Change your lunch plans, and Change a Child's life! Join us every Monday for 45 minutes to make a difference at Whitehouse Elementary by being a "Lunch Pal" for a student who could use a friend. The school will identify students who could benefit from a mentoring relationship. Some students are facing social, economic, family and or academic challenges, or they are at a point in their lives where they will especially benefit from an additional positive and encouraging adult who spends time with them. You will be paired with a student based on similar interests and then have the opportunity to sit with them for lunch and go out to recess with them. Your willingness to invest time with a child will have a huge impact! There are 4 different time frames: 11:15-12pm, 11:45-12:30pm, 12:15-1pm, or 12:45-1:30pm You can pick 1 time frame for one student or 2 time frames, and impact 2 students. Background checks (free) will be provided and are required for this group.

Surround yourself with other men who are seeking recovery from hurts, hang-ups and habits that have gotten their lives off-track. This is a Bible-based recovery group that emphasizes honesty and a willingness to change through the transformative power of the cross - Jesus Christ's example and teachings, in the power of the Holy Spirit. The full, Christ-centered version of Reinhold Niebuhr's Serenity Prayer is cited in each meeting to help set the tone and direction of our discussions. Anonymity and confidentiality will be maintained to provide a safe place to help work out your own recovery program.
