Showing and calling all the things

Sunday, May 3, 2026

Friends! This month has been so good! This was our last full month in the internship, and it was amazing.

First thing this month, we had EASTER. And it was such a blessing.

I had the honor to “Show Call”. This is an opportunity to serve, very similar to the producer role that I have been learning.

In this role, I lead the production team, guided them through the service, focused on details, and made sure the service happened from the production side. I also had the pleasure to run the service with Edna, my amazing supervisor. She made sure to bridge the gap between the music side and the production side; we worked together very closely.

Are you ready for the true blessing of our Easter services? Here’s the amazing impact we have been able to be part of.

We had..

- 15,004 people attend in person (5,641 at the Perrysburg campus alone!), with another 3,278 watching online

- 188 baptisms (80 at Perrysburg!)

- 263 hands raised indicating that they made a decision for Christ (116 at Perrysburg!)

Isn’t that amazing?? Our awesome production team at the Perrysburg campus had an impact on that many people, to help move the mission of Christ forward. I’m forever grateful for this team, and the opportunity I have to be part of this team with them.

We got to have such a fun experience and go out to lunch for our weekly intern class at the beginning of the month. And we had to, of course, go to Tony Packo’s.

Now, for everyone not from the Toledo area, you may ask: What is Tony Packo’s, and why does it matter??

Well, I’m so glad you asked!

Around here, it’s very well known; it’s a part of the local culture. Everyone says “If you are in the Toledo area, you have to go to Packo’s at least once”. The reason I knew of it was of course from the old tv show M*A*S*H. One of the characters was from Toledo, and it was part of his character, just like his love for the MudHens; they even had a cutout of him there. Okay, that’s enough tv show talk from me, but let’s just say… it’s a huge part of the culture around here.

It was such a fun chance to talk, connect, and eat some delicious food. We had some good laughs and even better conversations.

Later on in the month, we had our DreamTeam Celebration.

Okay so, our DreamTeam is what we call our amazing volunteers here at CedarCreek. And we LOVE them.

Twice a year, we get a chance to celebrate them and all they do with food, games, prizes, and lots of laughs. And we got to help out with one of those!

As staff, we are given the opportunity to serve our DreamTeam by setting up, serving food, greeting, socializing, and running activities.

I got the ability to greet people with some other staff members, and my fellow intern Abram (and played some basketball with him, and entertained our DreamTeam while doing it).

Now, in my blog for January, I explained how we get interns from Owens Community College that come for experience. Well, our current Owens Intern, Ben, may just be the coolest dude ever.

I spend probably 80% of my time with him during the week, and on weekends. We do lots of, as Kali lovingly calls them: “Intern tasks” (we love this title). For example, while Edna was on vacation this month, Kali gave Ben and me the “Intern task” of relabeling and retaping all of the parts of our drum set. Another example was we took off all of our grip tape off of the stairs on the stage, mopping them, and retaped all of the stairs. Honestly, doing these tasks together may be the most fun we have.

Because this was our last full month, this is my last full official blog. I will post one more in May to talk about last-minute things and for closure. Thank you all for supporting and reading these blogs so consistently.

This month, I would appreciate your prayers for:

- The ability to finish strong and have lots of fun despite the limited time.

- For our production team, losing a treasured member.

- Wisdom for my next steps.

This month, my praises are:

- Despite having multiple sicknesses over the last month, I was able to work and have fun.

- The amazing impact we were able to make on our Easter services, and everyone attending.

- The time I get to spend with these great interns every week.

Verse of the Month:

Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Wondering & Wandering

Sunday, April 5, 2026

I can’t believe this was our second-to-last full month! It’s crazy how fast the month went.

Starting off this month, we had our Campus Tours!

They were two separate weekends, but for our purposes, I’ll just talk about all 6 of them in one spot.

During our campus tours, we had the opportunity to go to a campus, meet their staff, get a tour of the building, participate in their worship, and interview the campus pastor!

Our first weekend, we attended Perrysburg on Saturday, along with Findlay and West Toledo on Sunday morning.

At Perrysburg, some of us got to participate in our Arts huddle that we have on the weekends. It was so cool to get to see the other interns interact with the teams I spend every weekend with.

While we were there, we got to interview Luke and Daniel, our campus pastor (and associate campus pastor). We had the opportunity to learn about the history of the church from Luke, who’s been with CedarCreek since the beginning.

At Findlay, we got to attend their Arts team prayer huddle where they discussed prayer requests, praises, and prayed for each other. It’s always special to see how other campuses function and the special things they do to care for their DreamTeam.

We got to interview their campus pastor, Chris. This was actually one of Chris’s final weekends as the campus pastor, so it was a very special experience.

Our final stop of the weekend was West Toledo. They have such a special campus, as it’s one of the smallest, and the only one we don’t own. They have such a friendly and tight-knit community. It was so cool to see people we’ve never met come over, talk to us, and show us around.

We had the opportunity to interview Ed while we were there. Everyone we talked to described him as a “Teddy bear”, which is definitely true! He loves people so deeply and had so much life advice for us.

Our second weekend of campus tours was Whitehouse on Saturday. Then Oregon and South Toledo on Sunday morning.

At Whitehouse, we also got to attend their Arts huddle (thanks to Devin for the invite). Their team was so friendly!

We got to interview Shawn there. Shawn is actually Ed’s son! It was so interesting to hear how they navigate their personal and work lives. As well as learning about leadership and the passion that Shawn has for it.

Okay, so, Oregon is pretty special too. They have the smallest campus, so small that they don’t have a live band and have a 2-3 person production team on the weekend, but that absolutely does not affect the experience at all! They have such a strong community!

We got a special tour from Sean who showed us the ins and outs and explained more about their campus!

Our interview there was with Andy! He’s always a joy to talk with; he’s always making jokes and telling stories. My favorite thing we heard from Andy was him telling us to “Do everything possible while you can. Say yes to people and opportunities.”

Our last, but definitely not least campus, was South Toledo! They have one of the biggest buildings and are our only campus that kept our old service times of 9am & 11am on Sundays.

Our final campus pastor was Seth. He’s the newest to his position, but he’s been around for a while! We got to learn all about his family, history with the campus, and amazing testimony.

I was given the opportunity to run lights alone on a weekend for the first time this month, and it was baptism weekend!
Lighting is such a fun position to execute, but boy, there are a lot of things, especially on a baptism weekend! I loved the experience and learned so much.

It’s almost Easter!! Things are looking so good for it. We have super fun songs, live art, baptisms, and amazing content from our lead pastor. As well as an egg hunt in our Kids Ministry with 15,000 eggs!

I will be show-calling for it, which I will explain more next time!

This month, I would appreciate your prayers for:

- For our last full month of the internship to be impactful and continue to teach all of us

- For our next series to be impactful.

- Continued peace.

This month, my praises are:

- Our campus pastors being so generous and caring to take the time to talk with us.

- Getting to see some of our awesome production team perform on stages!

- Getting to participate in our All Team run-through for Easter, which was hosted for all of our campuses’ arts teams.

Verse of the Month:

Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Lights.. cameras.. preach!

Sunday, March 1, 2026

Hello all! This month has been so short but so full! We only have 3 months left, isn't that crazy??

The first full weekend of the month was… drum roll please… PREACH OFF!

You may remember what Preach Off is from my blog last month (feel free to go back and read it if you’re unsure).

Now, it was AWESOME!!

This was my first year ever serving Preach Off (or as we lovingly call it: The Production Olympics), and I had a blast! I was doing backstage with 5 other awesome people. Special shoutout to Ben and Sara for being my main partners in crime on stage right! Being able to serve with them, and our entire production team was such a gift that I will forever be thankful for.

Our “Halftime show” was another job entirely!

I was given the opportunity to team up with Asa to both switch jobs mid-service! He shared his camera with me to roam, while he put on a drum to march for the show!

To everyone who was part of this service… thank you for making such unforgettable memories and always being with me!

Now, the less fun news of the month…

Since late January, I had been having quite a bit of knee pain, which got worse right before Preach Off, which caused me to go to Urgent Care, then an orthopedic specialist. All that to say, they think something is going on with my patella tendon, so I’ve been in physical therapy for the majority of the month. They’ve been giving me exercises and are taping my knee at every appointment to avoid needing to use a brace. As of now, it’s getting better, sometimes I just wish it was faster!

Pickleball! I’m sure some of you have heard of it, and maybe some others haven’t. It’s an interesting sport. Confusing at first, but fun when you learn the rules!

This month, we got to have our final Masterclass. This one was with Marsha, who unsurprisingly, taught us how to play Pickleball! It was so fun to play with the others who barely knew how, or hadn’t played in a long time!

This month I had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks at our Findlay campus. And I learned tons! It was so fun to spend time with their Arts Director, meet their production team, and see how a campus functions differently from Perrysburg. I really enjoyed my time there, and am so thankful for this opportunity. If I had to pinpoint one of my favorite things I heard/learned while at Findlay, I’d say:

“Failure leads us to be better when it really matters”

“No part (campus) is less important, but some do different amounts / things”

On February 22nd, I had the chance to come back to Perrysburg to help out with our Night of Worship, where 5 of our 6 campuses came together at the Perrysburg campus. It was almost an hour straight of pure worship, and it was so powerful. Not only did I have the chance to be in a room full of people hungry and seeking God, but I also got to do it with some of my favorite people, and just have fun, despite the fact that all of our tech decided to break that night.

There’s something so special about being able to smile and laugh with people, despite all the technical difficulties

This month, I would appreciate your prayers for:

- Continued healing of my knee

- The confidence to fully commit to the last 3 months

- Peace with whatever comes next and to trust God with it

This month, my praises are:

- Having such a loving community here who support me

- Getting to know new people and opening up

- Having such an amazing and supportive group of interns to do this with

Verse of the Month:

1 Corinthians 16:13-14: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”

Making splashes

Happy New Year!!

It’s crazy that we’re over halfway through this adventure!

January was a blast, here’s some highlights!

I got the opportunity to start and end the month baptism producing! Usually we would only do baptisms on the first full weekend of any month, but that would be Preach Off (More about that later), so we pivoted it to  the weekend of Jan 31st & Feb 1st!

Baptism producing has been such a blessing to me. It is such a wonderful experience. It’s giving me a smaller space to put myself out there, interact with new people, and lead a group! As well as, seeing that life change in people’s lives is truly unique

Towards the end of the month, we had the opportunity to go to Maumee Bay State Park with Cindy for a Spiritual Retreat. This was a 24 hour silent retreat in which we fasted from technology and food. We were given multiple assignments having to do with journaling and reading the Bible, but we also made a gratitude list, as well as letters to all the other interns.

It was such a good experience!
My favorite memory was sitting with two of the other interns, silently, while reading James and writing letters

There's something special about connecting with people and God in such a unique way out of the "normal"

Sometimes, our church will take in an intern from Owens Community College for a few months. These interns use this experience as part of their final year in college, to get hands on experience in broadcast/production, and.. we got our Owens Intern, Ben, this month!

I’ve been the primary person teaching him and showing him all that I do on a weekend and during the week. He’s been lots of help, especially with all the set up we’ve been having and will have in the next couple months

I was asked if I would like to lead the production team for our “kids camp” at the church in June. I will be producing for it, recruiting the team, organizing people and in general leading!

We’ve been planning out a team for it, and other details. I’m very excited for this opportunity!

Previously, I had mentioned moving baptisms up a week due to Preach Off.. now it’s time for me to explain that.

“Jess, what on earth is a ‘Preach off?” Great question!

Preach Off takes place on Superbowl weekend, we have a fun “pre game show”, commercials, an awesome halftime show, and the main event, competitive preaching!
Our four speakers (in teams of two) are given random words and verses to work into 4.5 minute sermons, in a competition. Whoever has won the most services by the end of the weekend, wins!

Now.. Preach Off is a really big deal at Perrysburg, as we are the campus broadcasting the event everywhere else.

We have turf, decorations, benches, and plenty of fun things! However, with all of that fun, is a lot of work and coordination.

During this month, I have had the opportunity to sit in on multiple meetings and conversations about planning, leading, and executing the weekend. We also are taking time at the end of this weekend to clear stage, put down our turf, and put everything back on for next weekend.

Now, for the actual services, I get to do backstage with four other awesome people, except for during the Halftime show, in which, I get to do roaming camera!!

This month, I would appreciate your prayers for:

- Peace during a crazy set of services

- To continue trusting God in what I’m doing and where I’m going

- Continued growth personally, professionally, and spiritually

This month, my praises are:

- That I have such amazing people as staff here at Perrysburg cheering me on

- Having the ability to share my knowledge with others

- Being able to enjoy the little things, even during chaotic times

Verse of the Month:

1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Going bananas, pressing buttons, and lots of snow

Monday, January 5, 2026

Hello all! December was a crazy, yet amazing month!

I struggled a bit while writing, as it feels like so much has happened, but I’ve also done so little...

We started the month off strong with our campus Christmas decorating party

I had the privilege of coming early to set up all the trees on the stage! It was chaotic, but so much fun! (Shoutout to Devin for helping us out for a lot of the heavy lifting)

The first weekend of the month, we had the absolute pleasure to welcome Kyle “KJ” Jackson from the Savannah Bananas! It was such a blast, one of the best weekends I’ve had the privilege of participating in!

You may ask… “Jess, what’s a Savannah Banana?”, I’m so glad you asked!

The Savannah Bananas are a baseball team, who have developed a special type of game, called “Banana Ball”. It blends serious play with choreographed dances, comedy, and fan interaction. They’re basically the Harlem Globetrotters of Baseball!

KJ grew up at CedarCreek and now uses his platform to talk openly about his faith and the goodness of God!

During this unique weekend, I had the chance to have a couple special jobs!

Firstly, I got to Baptism Produce for the first time alone! I had such a blast getting to know everyone on the baptism team, and those getting baptized. There’s just something so special about being part of such a special time in someone’s faith journey!

Secondly, I had the opportunity to help plan out a route for where our cameras will be for KJ’s special “walk up” (where he ran through our auditorium to introduce him). As well as spotting one of our roamers and make sure both her and KJ stayed safe, even when going backwards!

It was so special to meet KJ, he was one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve met, and he didn’t even act like he knew he was famous; he just loves people.

On the 9th, we had a busy day. First, we our all staff run through of the Christmas service. This means, all production and music staff host the Christmas service for all other staff to have the opportunity to see it from the seat of a guest. Right after that, we had our Intern Christmas Party! Not only were the interns invited, but so were all of our Supervisors and Mentors! My mentor, Stephanie gave us a class in candle making, so we all made our own!

Christmas wasn’t how I had imagined... I was very sick for over a week before the beginning of our services. By the time that the Christmas services started, I was over the viral infection, but it had settled into an ear infection for the rest of Christmas.

Despite being sick and missing almost all of our practices and preparations, Christmas was AMAZING. I was switching with Ayden, and while it isn’t my favorite position, it was so good to be able to invest in the camera operators and to spend that time with him.

We spent our free time playing games of Flip 7 and eating lots of good food from our amazing Greenroom Hospitality team, who always makes us home cooked meals

I am so thankful to have been able to serve with every single person I did. Our production team is truly amazing and their level of dedication and love of what they do is incredible

This month, I would appreciate your prayers for:

-Getting back into a normal rhythm after the holidays and being sick

-My confidence to grow in producing as I am doing that a lot this month

-To continue to grow in my spiritual health through spiritual retreats and practices

This month, my praises are:

-Being able to make it to Christmas services

-Our wonderful DreamTeam

-Getting the opportunity to talk with KJ and learn his story

Verse of the Month:

Luke 12:7: “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Sometimes you just have to do it

Sunday, November 30, 2025

“Don’t make it bigger than it is.”

This quote was spoken by Kali. She is one of our favorite people in the world here. She was the production intern last year, and still works with us a lot. When you’re afraid to fail, you can cause even a small task to seem so big.. don’t let it be.

I started out the month learning producing from Kali which is when we had that conversation. There’s 3 different types of “producers” (Baptism Producer, main Producer, and Show Caller, but more about that some other time). They’re so detailed, but I’ll try my best to give an overview

The “Baptism Producer”, is a role once a month, on baptism weekends. They hold everything regarding baptisms. Because there are so many people and things happening, it’s easiest to funnel everyone through one point, which is the Baptism Producer. They connect with the team and make sure everything goes well.

The “Main Producer” handles things but on a much bigger scale, they handle every aspect of the service (lights, sound, cameras, switching, backstage, computer, as well as communicating with the band and anyone else needed). They make sure everyone has what they need, and hold the service together.

The first weekend of the month, I learned Baptism Producing, which I will be doing alone for the first time, the first weekend of December! (I’m actually very excited)

It’s so impactful to be able to connect with the baptism team the way we do. You get to speak to the people getting baptized and hear about them, you get to pray with them, build relationships with the volunteers, and be a part of such a big moment for others.

After that, I had my first weekend learning what it’s like to be a “Main Producer”. It gives you a completely new perspective, even after being in almost every area in the past, it’s actually almost needed to Produce properly, to have experience in every area and to know what it’s like and how it functions. The producer does so much, every weekend to make everything as smooth for the team and guests as possible

November is the month of “At The Movies” (ATM), which is a unique month-long series where we take a look at scenes from movies and tie it together with teachings from the Bible.

In production, every week we serve for the whole service, only getting a break between services, and our team have the biggest hearts for it. But during At The Movies, the whole sermon is pre-recorded, so we have roughly 40 minutes with nothing to do, so…this year we did something different as a production team! We held something called “Double The Fun Month”! Every week we had a different theme (and I baked something special). We played themed games such as finding hidden ducks, Uno, speed, spoons, duck bowling, and more!

Our themes were:

•Ultimate Uno

•Cereal Killers

•Duck Hunt

•Production Olympics

•Crazy Card Carnival

And to end the month, we had our Double The Fun party! We had pizza, Mario Kart, Uno No Mercy, and lots of fun :)

Last month I told you about our Masterclasses, well.. we had two more!

This month we did watercolor painting with Julie and CrossFit with Libbe

Here’s some takeaways from each!

Painting with Julie :

-Just like every single one of our paintings were different, we all are different, every single one of us

-Every person had a different, and often worse, perspective of their own than others did, it’s true with ourselves too

-You can’t compare two things that were never meant to be the exact same, none of us ever were

CrossFit with Libbe :

-Every person has a different story, and sometimes it may not look like yours or make sense to you, but it does to them

-Everyone connects with their faith differently. Some connect through art, some connect through fitness

-Find your unique way to connect with your faith and God, and center your days around him that way

In the middle of the month, all of us interns were offered a huge opportunity. We were asked to participate in the filming for our yearly Christmas service.

Every year our amazing filming team makes videos that play throughout our Christmas services, this year is no different, and I got to be part of it!

Only two interns were available at that time. Myself and Devin, who is also a production intern, but he is placed at Whitehouse/Central.

I got to learn how to play Garbage (a card game), meet new people, sit in a vintage steam train for hours, eat some awesome food, and just had a great day. And hey! You might see me in some of our Christmas service :)

So.. you might think “Jess, isn’t production all sitting behind computers and aiming cameras”. Well, you might think that, but it’s a lot more than that truly! We do everything throughout the week to prepare for a weekend, like what you may ask? I’m glad you asked! We send communication to the team for the upcoming weekend, write cards, clean, vacuum, mop, water plants, fix tech issues, reorganize, decorate, or just about anything else that’s needed for the weekend service and the wellbeing of our production team!

And boy, did we have a task this month! One Tuesday, right before Thanksgiving, we didn’t have all the meetings we usually have on Tuesdays, so we took on a task. We had to clean and reorganize.. a lot. We got to drive the golf carts and store them in a different area of the church. Edna fluffed and put lights on the last couple Christmas trees (oh yeah and we had to fluff and light 12 or so trees.. I lost count), while Kali and I went all the way up in the lift to reorganize and clean 15ft up, we were safe I promise!

I think the photo attached is my favorite of all my photos from the month. I love these two girls I work with so much

This month, I would greatly appreciate your prayers for:

- Baptism Producing by myself the first weekend of the month (December 6/7)

- Continuing to lean in, no matter if it’s scary

- Peace during this crazy, yet beautiful Christmas season

This month, my praises are:

- Our growing attendance - many more people are meeting Jesus

- How dedicated our production team is, and putting their all into everything

- The amazing staff and volunteers at this church, who will always catch you if you fail

Verse of the Month:

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ : “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.””

Coasters, yellow bricks and spooky trees

Sunday, November 2, 2025

The month started off with a bang! We celebrated the 30 year anniversary of CedarCreek with an amazing service. I had the opportunity to be in-room and do stationary camera for our celebration, and I am so thankful for it.

Seeing all of the engagement, all of the original founding members of the church who attended.. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to experience it all!

While we were in Chicago last month, the interns planned a trip to Cedar Point!

Unfortunately, one of us, Jadyn wasn’t able to make it and we missed it, but we did the thing!

I don’t think I’ve ever had that much fun with a group of people. I’m so thankful for each and every one of them! We got to ride some of the biggest and scariest coasters, play games, and get to know each other!

We went during their “Halloweekends” where they have fog, “jumpscare artists”, haunted houses, and all the Halloween themed things, although we did do our best to avoid most of the scary things.

I also had the opportunity to help build some of our decorations for our “At The Movies” series. For this series, we have messages which tie movies into Biblical principles and stories, another fun opportunity to see God in every aspect of our lives!

For At The Movies, we decorate a majority of our building! Half of it (Where the auditorium is located), we decorate as a movie theater. And the other half (Where the kids and students ministries are located), we decorate with a movie theme! The Perrysburg campus’ theme this year is Wizard of OZ!

I was, with Edna and Kali, able to help create the yellow brick road, and the spooky forest! I had to many fun moments with them through the process, and am so grateful I got the opportunity to help them. I also was given “direction” signs to own the creation of, that shows the ways to all of the different areas!

The main event of the month is…. Halloweekend! Our Halloween themed church service! Where we bring costumes, candy, fun music, spooky stories, and the Bible together! It was truly such a FUN weekend. Part of our service was a custom made “choose your own adventure” segment, where the attendees could choose how the story of the videos went! It was so fun talking with the team and putting in predictions as to what options we thought they would choose!

I also had the honor of watching my amazing supervisor Edna host the choose your own adventure.. on stage! She did such an amazing job, and as always brought her love for the Lord, and others into everything she does!

So about Halloweekend… At our 8:30am service on Sunday, we had a bit of a oopsie. We had a power surge, and all of our sound in the auditorium went out towards the end of Ben’s message! No mics or instruments.

Our amazing team adapted as much as possible. Ben projected, team in the sound booth did so much to get it up again. And our band swapped all the instruments with acoustic only minutes before the were supposed to go out and sing. Despite all of the difficulties we had, it was beautiful! Seeing the support and participation from our guests, hearing every person sing and engage was a highlight of the weekend

To end off our month, we had our first “Masterclass” for our intern class!

You might be asking yourself “what’s a Masterclass?”, I’m so glad you asked!

We are being given the opportunity to spend a few hours with staff members that we may not otherwise know well, and have them teach us about something they’re passionate about! As well as having time for conversation, and asking lots of questions and sharing what we learned! This class we had the opportunity to go with Jason, and see all he does in event management! He work with a company as a sort of middle-man between a concert venue, and the band that will be performing!

It was so fun to get to know him, learn about what he does outside of the work he does at CedarCreek, and to get out!

This month, I would greatly appreciate your prayers for:

- Allowing myself to try new things, and even fail

- The upcoming holiday season

- Continuing to learn to lead and connect with others

This month, my praises are:

-Being apart of such an incredible church

-The PB campus staff for showing me nothing but compassion and support!

- The amazing DreamTeam that we have in production, I learn so much from all of th

Jumping in

Monday, September 29, 2025

During this month, I’ve been making more meaningful connections with other staff members, as well as planning for the coming months.

I’ve taken on more leadership responsibilities on weekends. I’m in charge of our team bonding time, “team time,” on Sunday mornings. Additionally, I’ve been facilitating parts of our pre-service huddle and post-service huddle on Saturday evenings.

I’ve been learning a lot about a specific position called “Switcher.” In this role, I communicate with the camera operators and decide which ones will be shown at which times. I’m confident that I’ll be able to do this independently within the next month.

After conversations with my supervisor, I’ve decided to continue meeting one or two new people every weekend to build connections and become a familiar face for people.

At the end of the month, the interns, along with a few others, took a trip to Chicago! Watch out next week, as I’ll try to get out a newsletter all about our time in Chicago. There’s a lot to cover!

This month, I would greatly appreciate your prayers for:

- Growing in relationships and meeting new people

- Developing my leadership skills while staying true to myself

- Trusting God’s plan for my life

This month, my praises are:

- The relationships I’m developing with all the other amazing interns

- The safe and supportive environment that allows me to try new things, even if I fail at first

- The opportunities I have to grow and learn

Verse of the Month:

1 Peter 5:6-7: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Taking a deep breath and finding your people.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share that I’m currently in my fourth week as a Production Intern at the Perrysburg (main) campus of CedarCreek! This has been an incredible experience, especially in just the first month. I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes me!

Global Leadership Summit

During my second week of the internship, I had the privilege of attending the Global Leadership Summit (GLS). It was an amazing experience that provided me with valuable insights and opportunities to connect with my fellow interns.

One of my biggest takeaways from GLS is:

“Great leadership isn’t defined by the expectations of others; it’s defined by your response”.

It becomes so easy to base your worth and status as a leader based on what expectations others have, and what they think leadership looks like. But others have no say in what makes you a leader. God is the only one who has a say in that.

As a Production Intern at the Perrysburg campus, my role is to learn everything involved in organizing a weekend service. This includes operating various equipment such as lights, sounds, cameras, and computers. As well as the work that goes on throughout the week that no one sees, and the crucial relational aspects of this position.

Every week, we attend an intern class where we learn about leadership, teamwork, and effective communication. Within the past few weeks, we’ve been focusing on the importance of asking good questions, particularly those that help us get to know people. I’ve been working with my supervisor to improve my lobby conversation skills and introduce myself to new people. It can be nerve-wracking, but I’m incredibly grateful for having this opportunity in such a safe and supportive environment.

This week, I would appreciate your prayers for:

- Meeting new people and building meaningful connections.

- Learning my limits and knowing when to say no.

- Continuing to grow my faith.

My praises for this month include:

- The warm and welcoming community I’ve found during this new adventure.

- The genuine connections I’ve made with my new coworkers.

- The wonderful supervisor, Edna, who cares deeply for everyone she meets.

Verse of the Month:

Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
