This has been a year full of excitement and opportunities. I started this year not even knowing what CedarCreek was or what it was about. The only thing I knew was that it was a church I had seen on TV every now and then. But I had the opportunity to do an Owens internship in Production, and I had a list of places I could choose from. CedarCreek was on that list, so I decided to do my internship there.
I came in not knowing anybody or anything about CedarCreek, but I quickly became obsessed with it. I learned all about the equipment, met so many amazing people, and had a great experience.
As my Owens internship was coming to an end, Edna Brice, my internship host, told me that everyone really liked me and that I should apply for the CedarCreek internship program. She told me a little bit about what the program was, and I knew I wanted to learn more and continue being a part of CedarCreek. So, I immediately said yes and applied.
The biggest struggle was raising financial support. I couldn't find enough people to support me, and I almost lost hope and decided to quit. But God came into play, as always, and made a way for me to raise enough money to continue.
Now that I have started the CedarCreek internship, I have realized how different it is from my Owens internship. There are way more moving parts than I ever thought. There are meetings on top of meetings on top of meetings, and each one has something different being discussed. Every meeting is an important part of making the church run.
This experience has already taught me so much, and I know there is still a lot more for me to learn. I want to thank all of my supporters, my supervisor, my mentor, and all of my fellow interns. I truly could not do this without all of you!
I am excited to see what the rest of this year brings and where God takes me next.
