A Month of Opportunity

Tuesday, September 1, 2026

What a month it has been! Just in the past 30 days God has given me more opportunities than I thought possible.

Just going into the first week of my internship I was pretty nervous. Had no clue what God was preparing me for or what I would be doing. I just had to trust in God that he was lead me right to where he wants me to be.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends outs its roots by the stream. It does no fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

The first week consisted of software training and getting used to where everything was located. Started getting into routine of working Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Everyday I was meeting someone new that I haven't met before and it was just a really great week. My previous Job didn't have so many people and it also wasn't so friendly. It was a sudden change that was different but for the better.

Now as things started to ramp up throughout the second and third week, I worked along side my supervisor Jared, attending meetings and getting used to working as the music intern. My position as a music intern helps out with the Music team and the Production team. On the weekends, the worship band uses a software that plays music in their ears with a click track and cues to let them know where they are in a song. As a music intern, I have been learning to create that music with Jared's help. It has definitely been a challenge. It is a completely different software that I am used to. With the skills I've learned at Owen's Community College, I have been able to get a head start at making music to help the team.

With each challenge is another opportunity that God is inviting me to step into. My goal is to say YES to just about everything that is asked of me, even if that means I have to be outside my comfort zone. An example of this would be at this year's DreamTeam Launch, if you don't know what that is...here is a brief description.  DT Launch is a time where the staff get to serve the people who serve in the community. Every campus is invited and we got to worship together, get our minds ready for the next season, and set our hearts right on what God is having us do this upcoming season. At DTL 2026, I got to play with the worship band for the last song! The last song we played was "Washed" by Elevation Worship. Most people didn't know I would be playing but I played my saxophone! I was definitely nervous going and playing in front of roughly 600 people but God's presence just allowed me to be calm and enjoy the moment. Set up and tear down was also a really cool experience of DT Launch.

This first month has been an absolute gift from God. Cannot be more thankful for the opportunity he has given me. I am looking forward to the challenges he brings in September!

Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
