Challenges Ahead

Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Last time I talked about starting a journey, and an essential part of adventures are challenges which is part of the process of learning and becoming better. As I have gotten more in depth of the internship I’ve encountered different challenges that have made me falter, but as I’ve walked through have left me with a lesson and a new strength. Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone, and every hurdle has proven to be a necessary stepping stone in this season of discovery.

This season of my life I’ve tried taking active steps towards facing my multiple fears, not backing down of a task when given the option of not accepting it, even when every instinct tells me to step back. For instance, one of the greatest fears I’m slowly overcoming is speaking in public or leading a moment like a huddle. This months I’ve had to lead some sections of our huddles, and although I’m shivering on the inside, I’m praying to God to strengthen me and make me become capable in Him. It’s been really fun having these introspection moments and see where I was and how God is shaping me in different ways, refining my character one step at a time.

Sometimes I get anxious if I recall it too often, being change one of the things I fear most. Feeling myself change, although positively, has provoked also some anxiety of becoming too different and then not recognizing myself, wondering if I will still feel like me on the other side of these milestones. But then again, is one of those fears that’s loading me and that I must face, encounter, and overcome, and I don’t doubt a truly valuable lesson will I get out of that. Embracing transformation means letting go of who we were to make room for who we are meant to be.

Some of the coolest things I’ve done is being able to design a class for two groups being them School of Rock and Voice Lab, and also leading them alongside with Nate. It has been so awesome to be part of the growth and learning process of other people, watching them find their voice and confidence, and I’m beyond thrilled about the many other ways God might work on my life through these shared creative spaces.

This month I joined a marvelous group of ladies where we are doing a Bible study on the book of Ruth. It has been very valuable to me to be able to be part of another group of women and feel seen and loved by a group of people who genuinely care. Truly, community can be so special, offering a safe harbor where we can share our vulnerabilities and encourage one another.

To close up I’ll just say, learning and growing is not comfortable, it has moved me from my safe spaces, but I pray God can continue to mold me and gives the courage to continue facing those walls I’ve built to protect myself so that I can learn how to be free in Christ and not a prisoner of fear.

A Unexpected Journey

Sunday, August 30, 2026

The word unexpected means something you weren’t prepared or ready for that happened anyway, which implies needing to take an action or response. If a car unexpectedly gets in my way, I could brake, try to avoid it by abruptly turning, run straight into it, or choose several other options. Along those lines, without any antecedent, I was given the opportunity to participate in this internship. It was truly something I didn’t expect at all or have on my vision board.

The thing with unexpected events is that you must face them, and your attitude will deeply influence the outcome. At first, I felt really scared and wanted to reject the opportunity. I’m a planner, and I usually know most of the things I want, which in some way leaves no room for God’s will in my life. How so? Well, when you’re lost, you either search for a map or ask someone for directions. But if you already know the way, you just drive there. Similarly, since I had my life's roadmap structured in my head to some extent, I never asked God to guide me because I thought I 'knew' where I was heading. God probably tried to teach me to trust in Him in many other ways, to let go and let Him show me His path, but I never took the hint. So, He used this great opportunity to teach me a lesson.

As I mentioned, I was avoiding the application process, secretly hoping that I wouldn’t be picked after the interview, but God had other plans. Although it’s only been about a month, I can already start to see how He is leading my life and revealing His plans for me. My first step toward having faith and trusting God was accepting His will to come to this internship. Now, I pray for my eyes to be opened so that I can see things as God sees them, and for a heart that is receptive to His plans.

Since arriving, I’ve learned so much about leadership, the ministry work required to pull off a weekend service, and how core values truly mold the heart and strategies of an organization. I’m so excited to learn these things, and I know there will be so much more to learn along the way. This weekend, I had the opportunity to serve, and as I stood on stage, it truly felt like I was right where God wanted me to be.
