Lessons in Honesty and Growth
Sometimes God teaches us the most through everyday moments rather than extraordinary ones.
What God Taught Me This Week
This week, I've been reminded that God often uses real-life situations to teach lessons that are long overdue. Sometimes it's an uncomfortable conversation. Sometimes it's an embarrassing moment. Either way, those moments can become opportunities for personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
The biggest lesson God has been teaching me is honesty.
Not just honesty with others, but honesty with myself and with God. Being honest when it costs me pride. Being honest when I'd rather protect my image. I've learned that true humility starts with honesty, and humility is often the doorway to growth.
My Current Challenge
One area I'm actively working on is organization. I don't want to be the person who slows progress or creates unnecessary obstacles. In ministry, our goal is to help people move closer to Christ, and I want my work to support that mission.
I still have a lot to learn professionally, but I'm beginning to see organization not just as a productivity issue, but as an act of stewardship. It's one more area where God is growing me.
Gratitude
Every day is a gift, and gratitude is more than simply saying "thank you." Real gratitude is reflected in how we live, serve, and care for others.
I'm grateful for God's grace in my life. My story isn't unique in that many people have experienced His grace, but I'm thankful for the way He has changed my direction, my priorities, and my future. That alone gives me a reason to be grateful every day.
Looking Forward
As I move into next week, I'm praying for greater discipline, better organization, and the courage to remain honest even when it's uncomfortable. I'm also looking forward to seeing how God continues to use ordinary moments to teach extraordinary lessons.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for continuing to teach and shape me. Help me walk in humility, grow in honesty, and steward well the responsibilities You've entrusted to me. Use both my successes and failures to draw me closer to You and help me point others toward You. It's in Your Son's name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
