Gratitude 

Thank God for one person or thing in your life that has proven to be trustworthy over time.

Prayer 

God, help me honestly see what I’m trusting and give me wisdom to choose what is actually worthy of my trust.

Scripture 

Acts 9:18 

“Instantly something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight.” 

Now, read Acts 9:1–9, 18. 

At the start of this story, Saul is completely confident. He believes he’s doing the right thing. He’s committed, focused, and fully trusting that what he’s doing is good—even though he’s actually working against God. 

And that’s what makes this so real: Saul wasn’t confused. He wasn’t unsure. He was fully convinced—and still wrong. 

Then everything changes in a moment. The verse says it’s like scales fell from his eyes. Suddenly, what he trusted before was exposed. He could finally see that what he believed wasn’t actually true. That’s hard—but it’s honest. 

Just because you trust something doesn’t mean it’s trustworthy. Just because you believe something doesn’t make it true. 

Most of us don’t stop and ask what we’re trusting—we just assume it’s working. Until something breaks, or doesn’t hold up, or leads us somewhere we didn’t expect. 

That’s why this matters so much: what you trust is shaping your life right now. 

And the question isn’t if you trust something—the question is whether what you trust is actually worthy of it.
