CedarCreek Perrysburg: Faith + Community Service Groups

Church Community: Soarion Digital

Sunday, June 14, 2026

There's a difference between volunteering and actually belonging to something. At CedarCreek Perrysburg, we've tried to build the second thing. Our groups aren't just a way to log service hours or fill a volunteer slot, they're communities of people who show up consistently for each other and for Perrysburg, built around a shared belief that faith lived out in the real world is more powerful than faith practiced in isolation.

If you're looking for a place where you can grow as a person and make a genuine difference in your community at the same time, here's what that looks like at our Perrysburg campus.

Groups at CedarCreek Perrysburg for Volunteering and Personal Growth

Our groups are one of the most meaningful ways to get connected at CedarCreek Perrysburg. They're semester-based, built around shared life stages and interests, and meet regularly throughout the Perrysburg area. Some groups are more inward-focused — creating space for honest conversations about faith, purpose, and the harder parts of life. Others are outward-facing, combining regular gatherings with hands-on service in the community.

What they all have in common is that they're built for real connection. Not the kind where you show up, sit in a circle, and leave feeling like you don't actually know anyone. The kind where people check in on each other during the week and show up when things get hard.

No prior faith background is required to join a group. You don't have to have it figured out. You just have to be willing to show up.

Volunteer Opportunities Through Second Saturday and Local Outreach

Second Saturday Serves are one of the most accessible entry points we have at CedarCreek Perrysburg. Every month, teams head out into the community for hands-on projects — serving nursing home residents, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk kids, and more. It's organized, well-supported, and a genuinely great way to meet people quickly while doing something that matters.

What a lot of people discover through Second Saturdays is that serving alongside someone is one of the fastest ways to build a real friendship. You work together toward something meaningful, the conversation gets honest, and before long you've found your people without even trying.

Beyond Second Saturdays, we also organize outreach events throughout the year tied to our bigger calendar moments. Serve Day on July 25th is the biggest of these — one day where our entire church mobilizes across Northwest Ohio for community impact. It's one of our favorite days of the year at the Perrysburg campus, and a powerful first experience for anyone who's never served with us before.

Serving Teams at CedarCreek Perrysburg

If you're looking for something more consistent than a monthly serve event, our DreamTeam serving teams offer ongoing volunteer roles across a wide range of areas. Hospitality, kids ministry, production, parking, outreach, with over a hundred roles available and schedules ranging from weekly to once a month, there's something that fits who you are and how much time you actually have.

Being part of a serving team is different from showing up to a one-time event. You get to know the same people week after week, you develop real skills, and you start to understand what it means to use your specific gifts for something bigger than yourself. It's one of the most common ways people at CedarCreek Perrysburg say their faith started to feel real and not just theoretical.

The best starting point for finding the right serving role is GrowthTrack, our free 4-week program that helps you discover your personality, spiritual gifts, and purpose, then connects you directly to the right team. It runs one week per month at the Perrysburg campus on Saturdays at 5p and Sundays at 10a.
