For Brenda Cooper, groups were a cornerstone of her
spiritual journey. In fact, her first experience with a Group was also one of
the places where she began to discover who Jesus was, who God was, and what it
meant to have a relationship with Christ.
Groups helped her grow in her faith, find community, and
learn that following Jesus was never meant to be done alone.
So when Brenda had the opportunity to lead a Group herself,
she had a choice to make.
She didn’t feel completely equipped. She didn’t have every
answer. But she said yes anyway.
Sometimes we assume God will call us to something only after
we feel ready for it. We tell ourselves, I’ll join a Group when I have more
time. I’ll lead when I know more. I’ll say yes when life is less messy.
But God is in the business of using messy, imperfect,
still-growing people.
Brenda’s story is a reminder that God doesn’t call the
equipped; He equips the called.
Maybe God sees something in you that you can’t see in
yourself yet. Maybe the thing you feel unqualified for is exactly where He
wants to grow your faith—and use your story to help someone else grow, too.
The truth is, the “right time” rarely comes. Life will
always be busy. There will always be another reason to wait.
So, what if this is your prompt to say yes?
….to the Group.
….to leading a Group.
Brenda's story encourages us to say yes before we feel
completely ready.
You might be surprised by what God can do through your yes.
